Stuck In San Francisco Part 3- Taking The City By Storm

Today was another Daniel and Kim whirlwind of San Francisco. We covered more ground in one morning than I thought was humanly possible. We raced against the clock in order to get back to our hotel before we had to check out. This gave us approximately 2 hours to see 4 attractions, which is 30 minutes at each attraction. Luckily for us, they were all in the Golden Gate Park which means they were in a 2 mile radius. Although we didn't spend a great deal of time in each place, we spent enough time to appreciate the unique qualities they could offer. 

Our morning began in Golden Gate Park at the Botanical Gardens. It was a beautiful and peaceful walk through impeccably maintained grounds.  We really enjoyed walking through the bamboo of the Asian forests.

Next up was the Japanese tea gardens. The coy ponds and bonsai trees were well placed around the gardens and the entire experience felt authentic.

We walked next door to the de Young museum to see what they had on display. Our first stop was an elevator ride up to the top floor for a spectacular 360 degree view of the city.

Next we walked through the Native American art exhibition, modern sculptures, and 19th century American art display. Kim really enjoyed the sculptures and I loved the early American art. Here are some highlights.

After our quick but enjoyable dose of culture we made our way to the Conservatory of Flowers. They had several atriums for us to walk through. They were very humid and felt like we were back in Florida. They also had a display of Venus fly traps but sadly we didn't see them in action.

We met up with Kim's cousin Jess to walk the dogs before switching hotels. During our walk we got pictures of this priceless encounter the dogs had with a couple of goats.  

 

Once we checked in, we took a quick trip to Six Flags just to see how much of the following day we wanted to spend there. Stay tuned...
