From the moment you walk in, your attention is grabbed by all the fun decorations.
It was next to impossible to resist having jelly beans for breakfast since they had a sample bar set up as soon as we walked in. Did you know Jelly Belly not only offers the classic flavors, but also ones that are really rare such as barf, dog food, and lawn clippings? Apparently grass isn't a bad mid morning snack.
The tour of the factory was cool and not only did we get to see how the jelly beans were made, but we also saw lots of jelly bean art. They are similar to color by number, but obviously a bit more complicated.
One of the best things about the factory is that they sell Belly Flops. These are the imperfectly shaped candies that are undeserving of the Jelly Belly logo. We purchased a bag after the tour for $1 to go along with the free bags they gave out. YUM!
After the tour, we headed back to Six Flags. This is the best Six Flags ever! It apparently used to be Marine World and to my knowledge, it's the only Six Flags that has so many exotic animals. It was the perfect combination to make for a great day. It even has creative stairs and trash cans!!!
We had the entire day planned out around all of the animal shows. The previous night we had seen the preview for Cirque Dreams and Drench! The Dolphin show. These were probably the two best shows in the park and left us excited to see what else was in store for us. We saw a walrus training session where the walrus wasn't in the mood to participate. Then we saw the tigers who were quite impressive as they interacted with one another and went diving in the water. The bird show was fun, but nothing overly impressive. We got front row seats during the exotic wildlife show and got a good look at a snake, sloth, bat, porcupine, baby monkey, ferret, and a parrot. The elephant show was also great and you can see some of our favorite parts below. We finished the day at the sea lion stadium where we got several laughs from the cheesy pirate scene they acted out.
Between the shows we ate, we rode elephants, fed sea lions, and got up close and personal with the giraffes.
In the other spare moments, we took pictures with the Looney Toons characters and went to visit the animals around the park.
I rode the best rollercoasters in the park. As a sidenote, I still can't get over how much technology has improved over the years. The things that rollercoasters can do these days are INSANE (and really fun!). The park was quite slow and the lines were practically non existent!
After spending the day in Fairfield, our hearts were already yearning for San Francisco. OK, maybe that was just our stomachs calling for more chinese food. The previous experience left me craving NORMAL wonton soup so we made our way back to Yee's for a satisfying last dinner in the city. I won't mention that we drove 45 minutes each way to have this last meal. If I did, that would tell you how high our expectations were and then I would have to tell you that our expectations were met. So, I will leave all of that unsaid.
